Teńsai - A Naruto Fanfic - CHAPTER 2

Okami: Hey everyone!
Kori: Ohayo!
Okami: O.O OMG
Kori: What? What I do?
Okami: Y-you spoke!
Kori: ...  And?
Okami: Who are you?! What have you done with Kori?!
Kori: WTF? I am Kori, baka.
Okami: No way. Nu-uh. You can't be. Kori doesn't speak. He glares.
Kori: *sighs* Whatever, baka-wolf.
Okami: O.< *twitch*
Kori: Here's the stuff for you all...

SUMMARY: It was supposed to be a simple mission... Well, simple for a B-rank, anyway - deliver a scroll to the Hidden Rain Village in return for a Konoha Jounin. But when the Rain leader decides to change his mind, the mission turns into a disaster for Naruto. What will the consequences be?

DISCLAIMER: Naruto and it's characters, Jutsus, locations and scenarios belong to the wonderful genius: Masashi Kishimoto. I own Moya-san, and certain bits of other characters such as Kouryo-teme and the ANBU who get their asses kicked XD

PREVIOUSLY - Naruto knew the man was dead. He felt a hand on his shoulder, and the world suddenly rushed back to him. The pain became clear, and he screamed with the force of it. He heard a mutter as he collapsed to his knees on the ground, and felt several more Shadow Clones come into existence. Several pairs of hands gently touched his body, making him lie down on the bloodied earth, then a single hand was placed over his burning eyes. Chakra started flowing into the ocean-blue orbs, but Naruto knew, even as Kyuubi's Chakra joined in the healing, that his sight was lost. He felt the pain take him under, and passed out...

--STILL IN FLASHBACK--

-- At the clearing --

Moya was sitting by the fire - the clone had lit it as he changed his clothes in the tent - and he was waiting for his rescuer to arrive. He hadn't heard Naruto's scream of pain, but he had watched his companion gasp and put a hand to his eyes. He stared into the fire, said clone sitting a few feet away. It was several minutes later when the clone stood up, and stared into the trees. Moya followed his gaze, and felt tears in his eyes when he spotted the newcomers. Two clones led the way, each holding drawn Katanas - one of them was covered in blood, whilst the other was clean. Another clean clone walked behind them, carrying something in it's arms, and a fourth clone walked behind them all. As they drew closer, Moya saw what the third clone carried in it's arms - Naruto.
An unconscious Naruto covered in cuts, and blood, with bandages wrapped around his eyes. The bandages weren't white, though. They were mostly red, blook-soaked, and there was a faint orange glow around them. 'The Kyuubi's Chakra.' He realised.
The Jounin watched as the five Narutos came into the clearing. The clone that had led him to safety carefully took the real Naruto from the other clones' arms, and carried him into the black tent, followed by two of the others. Moya waited for news of the blond Shinobi, and when one of the clones finally came out of the tent, he knew instantly that it would be bad news.
"How is he?" The Jounin's voice was quiet, but clear. The clone sighed.
"Unconscious. We gave him a strong sedative and a strong painkiller..." Moya waited for him to go on. The clone sighed again, and this time, a tear slipped down his cheek, and his voice wavered slightly. "Th-the ANBU's Katana was clean, thankfully, so there is a very low risk of infection. But... The blade cut deeply from one temple to the other. Across his eyes." Moya gasped, and wrapped his arms instinctively around the now-crying clone. "H-he still has his e-eyes. But ba-barely. He's irreversi-sibly blind. Not een K-Kyu-Kyuubi could return h-his sight." The clone broke down completely and just cried into Moya's shoulder. The Jounin felt tears in his own eyes, and handed the clone a handkerchief. He thought of something, but wondered if it would work...
"Couldn't Naruto-sama just get and eye transplant?" The clone shook it's head, tears calming slightly, wiping his eyes and face.
"For three reasons, no. Firstly, he would never accept anyone else's eyes - he wouldn't take anyone's sight from them. Second, their Chakra type and Blood type would need to be the same, and there isn't anyone who fits that category. And lastly, no-one would allow their eyes to be given to the demon, even when they were dead." The clone paused again, then went on in a quiet voice. "The-they tried to blind him several times be-before, but Kyuubi always managed t-to heal him."
Moya was shocked. He knew that there were precious few Shinobi who accepted Naruto, but he hadn't realised that the rest of them physically hurt the blond! He was going to see the Hokage when they returned to the Village, and try to help Naruto. The clone had stopped crying, and slowly climbed up, heading back towards the black tent. He sighed. 'I owe my life to him, and yet... I can't find a way to repay him.' The thought had been running through the Jounin's head since he arrived at the clearing. He sighed again. One of the clones came over and suggested he get some rest.
"As soon as Naruto wakes up, we're gonna start back to Konoha." Moya nodded and entered his green tent. He was going to make sure that he carried as much as he could on the journey back - the clones had Naruto to worry about. He shook his head to clear his thoughts, and laid down, hoping that he'd get some sleep.
